Using virtual optical media without software installation(Virtual CD)

You have ISO fi les of important tools on your USB stick and want to mount the ISOs onto a Virtual Drive, without having to install programs like Daemon Tools or Virtual CD.
Luckily, Microsoft has already made available the ‘Virtual CDRom Control Panel’. This freeware tool is only 50 Kb in size and contains everything you need. The virtual drive can be integrated using the Control Panel without the need of an installation, and can also be removed when not in use. The only condition is that the tool requires administrator rights in all cases. The latest version works under Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. You only need a few mouse-clicks to integrate an ISO file. First start the ‘VcdControlTool’ program and click on ‘Driver Control’. Select the file called ‘VcdRom.sys’ to install, which is also contained in the archive. Press ‘Start’ to activate the driver. You can now create a new virtual CDROM drive with ‘Add Drive’ and can integrate any ISO file with ‘Mount’. If you no longer need the file and the drive, proceed as follows: Eject | Remove Drive | Stop Driver | Remove Driver.
