Sometimes the mouse cursor is hidden
on the desktop and you cannot fi nd
it. Then you need to shake the mouse
violently or move in the direction of
a corner of the desktop just to fi nd it
again. Now there is a smart solution.
Open ‘Start | Control Panel’ in Windows. Click on ‘Hardware and sound’ (or under XP on ‘Printers and other hardware’). Finally open the ‘Pointer options’ tab in the ‘Mouse’ panel. You will reach the same place by double clicking on ‘Mouse’ in the classic view of the Control Panel.
Activate the option ‘Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key’ in the section ‘Visibility’. Confirm this action by clicking on ‘OK’.
Now, the next time you find yourself searching for the mouse cursor, simply press the [Ctrl] key. Then Windows shows clearly visible rings around the mouse cursor, which move wherever the cursor goes. Thus the operating system helps you find the current position of the cursor, and you can again concentrate on your actual job.
