The super taskbar of the new Windows
OS is useful. However you think it
could have been a bit smaller, thus
allowing for more desktop space for
applications.
Right click the taskbar and select the context command ‘Properties’. Put a tick in front of the option ‘Use small icons’ in the ‘Task bar’ tab in ‘Task bar display’. Then confirm the change with ‘OK’. The operating system then reduces the height of the superbar. Only the size of the ‘Start’ button remains unchanged as a result of which it projects out slightly as compared to the rest of the bar. This will have to be lived with, but it isn't very distracting at all.
