You want to encrypt a document for
security reasons. However, you are
now unable to fi nd the ‘Security’ tab in
Options.
It is now easier to access the default encryption by clicking the Office button in an open document and then clicking ‘Prepare | Encrypt Documents.’ In the next dialog, enter the desired ‘Password’ and click ‘OK’. Then enter the password once again and confirm with ‘OK’. Always remember that the password is case-sensitive. This document will now be protected from the time it is saved.
You can also define diff erent rights for reading or modifying the fi le. For this, click the Office button and select ‘Save as | Word Document’. Enter the path, file name and fi le type. Click ‘Tools’ below and select ‘General Options’. You can now define the password for opening and modifying in separate fields. Confirm the dialog with ‘OK’ and save the document.
