Color fringing occurs around objects in
an image when the background lighting
is very strong. Here’s how you fix it.
Color fringing or chromatic aberration is usually in the form of red, green, blue or yellow glow around the edges of objects. They often occur in combination of colors. Adobe Lightroom comes in very handy here. Open the photo in Lightroom and set the zoom to 100 percent. Change over to the ‘Development’ module and go to the ‘Overlay’ section in the tools area to the right. The controls for chromatic aberration are present in the ‘Detail’ subsection. There are sliders for adjusting ‘Red / Cyan’ and ‘Blue / Yellow’. Depending on the color of the fringe slide the relevant slider until the color fringes disappear. You can remove the purple edges with the ‘Remove edge’ option. First test the setting ‘Highlight / Edges’. If the fringing is still visible, correct it with the option ‘All edges’.
