In Windows XP and Vista, it is possible
to confi gure the disk clean-up tool to
delete the restore point and shadow
copies when debugging the system.
However, Windows 7 does not off er
these settings.
In Windows 7, the deletion process does not function similar to previous versions. In case of used data, the corresponding option in Windows 7 is very well concealed. To begin with, right-click on drive ‘C:’ in Windows Explorer and select the ‘Properties’ sub-command. Under the ‘General’ tab, click on the ‘Disk clean-up’ option. While In older versions of Windows, you can switch to ‘Other options’, in Windows 7, fi rst click on the ‘Disk cleanup’ button, and in the next dialog box, you will be able to switch to ‘Other options’. Subsequently, under ‘System restore and shadow copies’, click on ‘Clean-up’. Simply confi rm the security pop-up to delete all old system restore points by clicking on ‘Delete’ followed by clicking on ‘Delete fi les’.
