In a Word document, hyphenating a
justifi ed paragraph displays the text
compactly and without large gaps
between words. However, in some
paragraphs, it’s best to get rid of
unnecessary hyphenations.
So let’s disable the hyphenation for certain paragraphs. In Word 2003, select the paragraph, go to Format | Paragraph, and choose the tab ‘Line and Page Breaks’. In Word 2007, in the multitoolbar, click ‘Start’ close to ‘Paragraph’. From this box, check the option ‘Don’t hyphenate’, and click ‘Ok’.
